15/365 Travel Issues
Disclaimer: Please read this post with a proper South Indian English accent (hey, hello, not so loudly, only within your heart).
Given the fact that I travel a lot across the world (see this is how you do trumpeting of your own you know), I find some major travel issues which I thought of sharing. The first and foremost problem I faced was during my first visit to the US. I departed from Chennai on a fine early morning, after a transit in London, I arrived at Chicago the same night at 8.30 (see some time travel and all is there, but that is not something one can solve no?). Upon my arrival, the first thing I did was to go to a toilet (no restroom, all airports have only signs written as toilets, so read as it is). The shock awaited there after I finish my 2 bathroom. I was looking suthi-muthi and couldn't find a tap ya, and no mug also no... It was a western style one (which is ok, because I have used it back here in India as well), but no mug and no tap was a shocker. My pants were down when I was just rotating myself to see if there is something I can find (and no water bottle also as these padu-paavigal pudingify that in the security check-in), just before arriving at a conclusion that till home like this only and wear my pants, I found a roll of tissue paper (that is how we know it no, toilet paper and all we don't know). Then I figured out how to use it (that and all another story). That moment only I thought that these visa issuing officers in the consulate ask for so many documents and all before they issue the visa. As a courtesy to someone who is going to their country for the first time, shouldn't they give an information leaflet which says that we don't have water tap and mug in our toilets?... Using papers saves water and all is ok, but for the first time imagine the shock one will have!...pppaaah!... that 5 minutes will remain unforgettable in life (on one had refreshing because I finished my work but on the other hand not so refreshing).. Ok. I stop the shit here!.

The second major travel issue is the charging point. Yemma, how many designs of plug points da?... All countries are coming together to have Paris agreement on climate change and all (ok that is important only), but first come to an agreement on the design of the power plug point da. One country to another country different. So I normally google about the power plug type for the country before I go and intelligently I order an international power adopter (yaaravadhu yosicheengala?). The problem always in that adopter is that the plug will get to the point, but will not properly fit you know. You have to pudichi thongify that to make sure that the contact is proper and then slightly the battery will start to charge and by the time you remove your hand, all gone... (see you are laughing, I know you also had this problem ya). And not adequate plug points on the major international airports. You charge an airport convenience fee da, what will go wrong if you provide some more additional power points?.. what we all will come and take power from your country to our country ya?... non-sense fellows.
You know right now, I am thongifying in an airport to write this post so that I can finish off my daily routine, karumam.. If I become the secretary for UN, the first agenda I will have is to bring a uniform plug point for power (as I stronglybelievee that power should be decentralized), see how nice double meaning dialog no?
O.k, more travel problems in upcoming days ya!
